Hello and welcome to our new Archive Classics forums. We hope they will prove to be informative and entertaining in equal measure. To start with we have set up three forums - Weekly Podcasts, General Music and Technical Forum, and Site Feedback and Support.

In this forum – General Music and Technical – the discussion can be linked to topics that don’t necessarily relate specifically to our weekly podcsat, but can be more wide-ranging. In a nutshell that is about it! We will keep an eye on how things develop here and if it seems that we might all be better served dividing this forum into more than one, we will let you know.

We look forward to hearing from you in the weeks and months ahead.

I have been a member for about 3 weeks and have already been entranced by Stephen Johnson's podcast. I was listening to an orchestral piece, Schoenberg's Verklarte Nacht and could have sworn it was in stereo and, of course it was and very effective stereo it was, too. I had thought all pieces would have been in mono (no fundamental objection to that). But anyway I have never listened so intently toSchoenberg's work. Among many joys, I will single out the Gershwin pieces with Oskar Levant, Tchaikovsky's Manfred symphony and his 2nd piano concerto with Nikolaevna. My annual subsription must be the best outlay I have made. Thank you AK and long may it continue.

Thanks for your comments green and glad you are enjoying Archive Classics.

Whilst naturally many of our recordings are in mono, there are the occasional outings into stereo as well! In fact this Friday's podcast features Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli playing Chopin's 2nd piano sonata in a stereo recording. I hope you enjoy it!

Best wishes,

Alex
